Our Beliefs

Church:

We believe the local church is part of the Church Universal (all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are His disciples and are one in love, character and hope with Christ as the head of all). The local church is an expression of the body of Christ joined together to express God's love to a lost world and make disciples. Our responsibility is to exercise our spiritual gifts as we participate in the local body. Ultimately, whether local or universal, we do not “join" the church or “go to it", we are spiritually born into it. (Matthew 16:18, 18:17; Acts 15:4, 20:28; Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 1:7, 6:15-16, 10:16-17, 10:32, 12:4-31; 2 Corinthians 6:16-18; Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11)

Trinity:

We believe that there is One God, the only God, eternally existing in three equal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each completely and fully God. (Romans 12:6; 1Corinthians 1:7, 12:4-11, 12:28-31; Ephesians 4:11)

God The Father:

We believe the Father is fully God, and His fatherhood is eternal and personal. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and of all who believe in Christ. (Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 6:9; John 5:19-23; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Ephesians. 4:6)

God The Son:

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His being fully God and fully man, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, and in His perfect and complete sacrifice for the sins of all people. We believe in His life, death, bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven where He is at the throne of the Father interceding for us and in His imminent return for His church and His ultimate return to earth to reign as King of Kings. (Genesis 1:2; Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-2, 1:14, 3:16-18; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:20; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:20-23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:14-15, 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2)

God the Holy Spirit:

We believe the Holy Spirit is equal in deity and person with the Father and the Son. As the living Spirit, He moved the human authors of the Bible to write God's Word. He makes people aware of their need for Jesus Christ, performs the miracle of new birth, and comes to live in every Christian the moment they accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. He unites all Christians into the one Body of Christ, providing each of them with power for service, understanding of spiritual truths, and comfort in life's trials. (Genesis 1:2; John 3:3-8, 14:16-17, 15:26, 16:7-12; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 2:13, 12:11-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Scriptures:

We believe that the Word of God, the sixty-six books of the Old Testament and the New Testament, is inspired in all parts, and therefore, wholly and without error, as originally given by God. (Psalm 19:7-11; Matthew 4:4; John 2:22, Romans 1:2; 1Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 3:16)

Sin:

We believe that sin and death came into the world through Adam, the first man, who willfully disobeyed God. Because of those actions we are all sinners from birth, which is demonstrated by our sinful actions. We are all subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a Holy God. (Deuteronomy 24:16; Psalm 51:4-5; John 8:34; Rom 3:10, 3:23, 6:23, 14:23; 1 John 1:8, 3:4)

Salvation:

We believe salvation is a gift from God. We can be saved only through the grace of Jesus Christ, through repentance of sin and by faith alone in Him as Savior. We cannot earn salvation through good works or deeds. As we accept God's gift of salvation we are, as a believer, declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit and assured of heaven. The gift of salvation cannot be taken away by anything or anyone including ourselves. (John 1:12, 3:16, 10:27-30; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:24, 4:2-5, 5:1-2, 6:23, 8:38-39, 9:30-33, 10:9-10, 11:29; Galatians 2:16, 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2Timothy 1:8-10, 3:15; 1 John 5:11-13)

Eternal Life/Death:

We believe that there is a literal Heaven and Hell. Heaven is the place man will live eternally with God through acceptance of Jesus' gift of salvation. Hell is where man is eternally separated from God through rejection of Jesus' gift of salvation. (Matt 25:41, 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-31, 23:43; John 3:16, 14:2-3; Romans 6:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; 2 Peter 2:4; Rev 20:15)

Imminent Return of Jesus Christ:

We believe in the personal and imminent return of Christ to remove His Church from the earth and then establish His millennial kingdom upon the earth. (Romans 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18; James 5:8; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-20:6)
